Start your studies with IU
Don’t yet meet the requirements for work experience, English language skills or level of education? Not a problem – IU’s Scholarship Programme gives you the chance to start your online degree and fulfil the eligibility criteria while you study, just get us your proof of work experience, English language skill and education certificates to us before you complete 50% of your ECTS.
You can start your online MBA programme right away with the first 9 compulsory modules. Meanwhile, this specialisation will be made available to you from
01.12.2022 onward. For on-campus, the official start date is 01.04.2022 (English, 90 ECTS).
This course is ending soon on our Bad Honnef campus, the final intake is July 2022. It will then only be available on our Berlin campus and online.
DEGREE OVERVIEW
First, you will acquire the solid knowledge of a Master of Business Administration. This includes international marketing, strategic management and innovation and entrepreneurship. Your elective modules follow in the middle of the second semester. E-Sports Management as a specialisation is an excellent way to round off your MBA.
In the electives E-Sports Management and E-Sports Marketing and Event Management, you will deepen your knowledge about the industry and its events. Furthermore, you can, if you wish, deal with e-sports in your master's thesis.

Gone are the days when gamers played alone at home in front of their screens. By now, they have turned this into spectacular events. No event and no challenge is too big for you? As an event manager in the e-sports sector, you are responsible for the planning of e-sports events, from the concept to cost planning and marketing, and you guarantee a smooth implementation as well as satisfied organisers and participants.
As an e-sports manager in the media and community area, you look for creative measures to reach the target audience and keep them committed in the long term. You ensure authentic communication in social media, forums and networks with and within the e-sports fan community.
As a Team Manager you are responsible for single players or teams. You accompany the team during the preparation phase and later the events. You also represent your athletes vis-à-vis sponsors and advise them on business deals.
