Bring a Friend

If you receive your referral email, then it means you meet the criteria to refer family, friends and colleagues. You need to be registered and have completed one month of your studies at IU. 

You should receive your referral email automatically if you have completed your first month at IU, if you are unsure of anything or have not received it, contact us here: info-international@iu.org. 

Our IU team runs monthly checks so we can create a list of successfully recommended candidates. Once the person you referred completes their first month at IU, they will show up on this list, and you should receive your voucher shortly after this. 

As many as you like! There’s no limit to the number of people you can refer, as long as they continue to register successfully and complete their first month and continue with their study programme successfully, you will continue to get rewards!

Bring a Friend – Students

The bonus for the recruitment of a participant will only be issued if the recruited person has registered on a study programme at IU, has begun the study programme, and the applicable withdrawal period has elapsed without notice of termination. For claiming the bonus (in the form of a third-party online voucher) it is necessary that the referred person names the recommender in the online application of IU International University of Applied Sciences along with the recommender’s official IU email address. After the application, no recommendation is possible anymore. A bonus will not be issued if the recruited person has already made contact with the IU before he/she was recruited. In addition, the commercial marketing of the Bring a Friend campaign on its own websites or in similar forms is prohibited. Staff members of IU Group, or any of its subsidiaries, are not eligible to participate in the Bring a Friend campaign.

Remuneration (in the form of online vouchers) shall be issued within eight weeks after these conditions have been fulfilled. The possibility of converting an online voucher to a cash payout does not exist. For all successful recommenders, whether residing in Germany or outside Germany, an online voucher for the equivalent amount of 100 euros for successfully recruiting participants for online study programmes and 200 euros for on-campus study programmes will be emailed via the IU’s Student Office. Vouchers will be sent within 8 weeks after the relevant conditions have been fulfilled.

All existing IU students, whether studying online or on campus, can participate and recommend their family, friends and colleagues to the IU. Students cannot combine the ‘Bring A Friend’ campaign with any other IU promotional offers or campaigns.

The IU shall assume no liability for the due fulfilment of orders by third party online voucher websites operating in different countries. In no event shall the IU be liable for any claims, penalties, loss, damage or expenses, howsoever arising, out of or in connection with your use of these third-party online voucher websites, including, without limitation, direct or indirect loss, consequential loss or damage, loss of profit or goodwill, loss of data, loss arising from use or inability to use these websites, loss arising from any errors or omissions in the Website as a result of a breach of contract, negligence, delict. In no event shall the IU be liable for any human loss or personal injury caused or suffered, at the operating units of these third-party voucher websites, due to negligence or man-made events or due to natural calamities.
